This short film has been getting a lot of internet love lately for many reasons. The subject matter is extremely relevant, race, skin, hair, black beauty, memory and of course colourism and the lengths Africans have gone to prove the existence of the colonial condition. This film called Yellow Fever is by a female Kenyan film maker Nged’o Muki who I am so so happy for. I first came across it a few months ago while doing research for my film and I must say, a little part of me was a little jealous that I haven’t got this far. She’s done great. We need this story to be told over and over and over. Enjoy!
