I wish there was a proper video to this lachrymose and painfully beautiful Nina Simone version of George Harrison’s Isn’t it a Pity. Nina Simone is my favourite music.  Not musician. She is music personified and I worship and adore her.  Yet all these years later, I am still discovering new songs by her, like this song, which I have been listening to all week.  I’ve actually had a good week and have no reason to be so maudlin but she does that.  I only discovered Nina Simone in 2009. Before that, I had no idea she existed. Can you imagine? PS this song is even more intense if you are sitting alone with headphones on wearing a pensive facial expression and black. Unfortunately I do not know the credit for the video and this regal image of Nina on the front page.
